The lineup
This week from the kiln.
From mud to mug
Three weeks. One pair of hands. A cup you'll keep.
01
Day 1 – 2
Wedged & thrown
Locally sourced stoneware clay is wedged by hand, weighed to 1.4 lb, and centered on the wheel. Every wall is pulled tall, then trimmed leather-hard the next morning.
02
Day 3 – 12
Slow-dried & bisque-fired
Mugs rest under cloth for a full week so the foot and rim shrink evenly — no warps, no surprise cracks. Then a bisque firing at 1940°F sets the bone.
03
Day 13 – 21
Glazed & high-fired
Each piece is hand-dipped in a custom matte or speckle glaze, then fired again to 2350°F. The result: vitrified, food-safe, and tough enough for the dishwasher.
Stop drinking from disposable design.
Pick the mug that fits your hand. Drink coffee from something a person made for you.
